Hotel Cosmopolitan is located close to entirely renovated and landscaped square Aleksander Batemberg, where a number of buildings with historical importance for Ruse city are concentrated:

 

Regional historic museum – the oldest building in Ruse from the period of Neoclassicism and first office building in Bulgaria, after Liberation, build in 1882.

 

Eco-museum with the largest freshwater aquarium in Bulgaria with fishes from the Danube river. There can also be seen a model of a Mammoth  in real size. It is also exposed the world’s only fully preserved part of the lower jaw of a mammoth.

 

Regional Library “Luben Karavelov”, found in 1916 as a Chamber of Commerce.

 

Cultural monuments of national importance is also the building of State school for Boys “Knyaz Boris”, today “Hristo Botev “high school.  There Stoyan Mihailovski wrote the lyrics of the anthem of the Bulgarian education “Varvi narode vazrodeni” and then Tsvetan Radoslavov wrote the lyrics for today’s Bulgarian anthem in 1964. 

 

Only a few minutes walking distance is the promenade of the Danube river, where you can have a walk.
